Transfer options

When creating a public transfer, several options allow you to control who can access your files and for how long. These options are accessible via the Settings panel of the send form.

Recipients (emails)

Restrict access to a list of email addresses (up to 5). Only these people will be able to download, after logging in to their Retyc account.

  • Without email → public link accessible to anyone who has it
  • With email(s) → restricted access, notification automatically sent to each recipient
tip

To send to more than 5 people, or to collect documents in a structured way, use transfer templates.

Title (optional)

Displayed on the download page. The title is not encrypted — avoid including sensitive information in it.

Message (optional)

Note attached to the files. The message is end-to-end encrypted — only authorized recipients can read it.

Use a password

Additional protection: recipients will need to enter the password before accessing the files.

  • Minimum 8 characters if no email address is entered
  • Communicate the password via a separate encrypted channel from the link — for example Signal or an end-to-end encrypted messaging app. An SMS or email is not sufficiently secure for this use case

Expiration

Duration during which the link remains active. Upon expiration, the link is disabled and the files are deleted from Retyc's servers.

Encrypt with my key

Option available in the Encryption section of the form. By enabling it, Retyc also encrypts the files with your own public key — you will then be able to access and download your own transfers from the dashboard.
