Download tracking

For every transfer you send, Retyc shows you who downloaded your files and when. This is useful to confirm that a recipient actually retrieved their documents, without having to ask them.

View a transfer's tracking​

  1. Go to Dashboard > Transfer > Sent
  2. Open the action menu of the relevant transfer
  3. Choose Tracking (or open the transfer, then the tracking tab)

The tracking view shows, recipient by recipient, the number of downloads and the date of the last download.

What you see​

  • Identified recipients: the people you added as recipients (by email). For each one, Retyc shows whether they downloaded, how many times, and on what date.
  • Anonymous downloads: if your transfer is a public link, downloads made without an account are counted separately, without identifying the person.

Real-time notification​

If the "Transfer downloaded" notification is enabled, you also get an alert (in the app and, depending on your preferences, by email) as soon as one of your transfers is downloaded. See Notifications and preferences.

Privacy​

Tracking only covers access to the files (who, when, how many times). It gives Retyc no access to the content of your files, which remains end-to-end encrypted.
