Organization labels

Labels let your organization classify transfers and datarooms, and above all attach automatically enforced sharing rules to them: allowed recipients, maximum expiration, account-less access, external members. The member picks a label, Retyc enforces the rules.

info

Labels are a plan feature. If the Labels tab is not available in your organization, contact the sales team.

Label rules

Allowed recipients

This rule applies to transfer recipients and dataroom invitations:

ModeEffect
No restrictionAny recipient is allowed
Domain whitelistOnly Retyc accounts whose email belongs to the listed domains are allowed
Internal onlyOnly members of your organization are allowed

Transfers

  • Maximum transfer expiration: caps the lifetime of transfers carrying this label (itself bounded by the maximum allowed by your plan).
  • Allow anonymous transfers: when disabled, transfers carrying this label cannot be downloaded without an account. This option is automatically disabled when recipients are restricted.

Datarooms

  • Allow external dataroom members: when disabled, datarooms carrying this label cannot host members from outside the organization.

Use a label

When creating a transfer or a dataroom, a Label field appears in the form. The rules of the selected label are displayed below the field and enforced server-side: a submission that violates them is rejected.

Label selected in the send form

For a dataroom, the rules are also replayed on every invitation: a dataroom keeps living after its creation, so its invitations remain controlled by the label.

The label is visible to everyone who sees the object, including recipients on the download page.

Default label

From the labels list, the action menu of a label lets you set it as default: every new transfer and dataroom of the organization will then carry this label, unless the member picks another one.

Edit, archive, delete

Labels list

From Organization > Labels, the action menu of each label offers:

ActionDescription
EditChange the name, color, description or rules
Set as defaultApply this label by default to new transfers and datarooms
ArchiveRemove the label from the offered choices, without touching the objects carrying it
DeleteDelete the label (only possible if it has never been used)

A label that has already been used cannot be deleted: archive it. Existing transfers and datarooms keep their label and its rules.
