Version management
Retyc automatically creates a new revision when a file is uploaded to a folder where a file with the same name already exists. The original is never overwritten — all revisions are kept indefinitely, with no limit on the number.
How a revision is created
On upload, Retyc compares the name of the uploaded file with the files present in the current folder:
- Name absent → new file created
- Name already present → new revision of the existing file
The most recent version becomes the active version (the one displayed by default). Previous revisions remain accessible from the history.
Viewing the revisions of a file
- Open the data room
- Click on the relevant file
- In the side panel, select the Versions tab
Each revision displays the upload date, the member who uploaded it, and its size. You can download any revision individually.
Restoring a previous revision
From the Versions tab, click on Set as active version to bring a previous revision to the front. The old active version is kept in the history.
Quota
Each revision takes up space in the owner's quota of the data room. To free up space, delete unnecessary revisions from the Versions tab — this operation is irreversible.
